Antenna isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. There is no doubt that ZZ Top has talent. When you buy a ZZ Top album, you know exactly what you’re getting! ZZ Top is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Breakaway is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. World Of Swirl is another favourite of mine. Musically Fuzzbox Voodoo is superior to other tracks in Antenna. Girl In A T-Shirt is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. I think Antenna Head is the best song ZZ Top has ever done. Pch is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. I have all of ZZ Top’s tracks and Cherry Red is probably the most his introspective effort. I like the agression and power of Cover Your Rig. Lizard Life is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Antenna have ended. Deal Goin’ Down is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Antenna couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Everything. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Antenna. Tush (Digitally Remixed and Remastered Version) is a great opener for Antenna. Pearl Necklace (Digitally Remixed and Remastered Version) is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. La Grange (Digitally Remixed and Remastered Version) is the song that really did it for me. So much energy, so exciting a sound.I now have Viva Las Vegas as one of my personal favorites. Some call Gun Love from Antenna as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen.
