twelve years ago, Zoviet France briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Host - Blowing In The Instrument”. For older fans Misfits, Loony Tunes and Squalid Criminals will put a massive smile accross your face. Misfits, Loony Tunes and Squalid Criminals isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Such great and happy songs.
Host - Blowing In The Instrument is a fine track on any terms. Opening track Signal (2) shows the best of Zoviet France. Voice and instruments in Flote complement each other. I like to sing along with Signal (3), though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. The song feels complete. After you’ve listened to Semasen, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. They’re Eating The Passengers - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Zoviet France.
