Canyons Of Light is an amazing album, racked with beauty.This sixteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Zazen has. On Canyons Of Light album, Zazen have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. If I may, I suggest “Bryce Canyon”. That one song is amazing!
Zion is a song to enjoy for years to come. Arches was the first single release from the album Canyons Of Light. Bandolier is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Taos stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. First time I heard Zuni was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.I like the idea behind Grand Canyon. Canyon De Chelly still maintains something of a specific flourish. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Once Mt. Shasta gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Joshua Tree is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Canyons Of Light have ended. Within the first few notes of Anza-Borrego Desert it’s perfectly clear that Zazen is living this song. Lake Tahoe (4:10) a good melody. Mojave Desert one of the best in my collection. I loved Canyons Of Light the first time I heard it.
