There is no doubt that Wayne Shorter has talent. Wayne Shorter was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Wayne Shorter and Atlantis together. Atlantis isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Endangered Species and The Three Marias is really good.
The Three Marias is possibly the best song Wayne Shorter has come up. Wayne Shorter has astounded me with this amazing track. When You Dream is a marvelous, simple song by Wayne Shorter at the top of his game. Who Goes There! one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Atlantis is a astounding song and it grows on you. Shere Khan, The Tiger is simple, dignified and effective, Wayne Shorter refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Criancas - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. On The Eve Of Departure - I like this one.
