This fourteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Violent Femmes has. It’s natural for Violent Femmes to take a stab at ‘Old Mother Reagan’ considering her long-professed love for Led Zeppelin. I am not a real Indie music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Blind Leading the Naked’ really is amazing. This is one of Violent Femmes best albums
Still going through Blind Leading the Naked and coming to appreciate No Killing more and more with every listen. Simple and heartfelt closing track Faith closes Blind Leading the Naked on a high note. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Special is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Vocals of Violent Femmes in Love & Me Make Three really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Opening track Candlelight Song shows the best of Violent Femmes. I Held Her In My Arms - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. It’s such an underrated song. Good Friend is the song that really did it for me. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Cold Canyon marked the continuation of Violent Femmes in style evolution. Two People is another strong production from Violent Femmes.
