There is no doubt that Various Artists has talent. I am not a real Pop music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Utterly fantastic’ really is amazing. Since completing 1995’s ‘Fury?’, Various Artists fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. Exciting stuff.
|titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Utterly fantastic. Straitjacket have really caught my ear and imagination. The sound of Jetty Motel is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Nice and different song. Musically Caveman is superior to other tracks in Utterly fantastic. Tailspin is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. University Blvd. which is my favorite is a truly Various Artists sounding song. Gatecrusher is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Some call Itchy Chicken from Utterly fantastic as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Vocals of Various Artists in Della Street really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. calhoun surf is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Rampage is beautiful, yet underrated track. Lynxtail is the most memorable and astounding.
