Since Various Artists last CD (To the knife) on Virgin Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. On To the knife album, Various Artists have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. On the Lithuania charts, superstar Various Artists’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
The Knife is beautiful, yet underrated track. The song In Your Mind ending is my favorite… so catchy! Opposite is the albums biggest surprise. Forest is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Phoenix is one of the coolest songs Various Artists has ever recorded. Simple and heartfelt closing track Animal Torture closes To the knife on a high note. This song may be the most meaningful. In Your Mind (instrumental; In Your Mind (instrumental)) is a great opener for To the knife. Diagnose - My least favorite song on this album.
