Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Various Artists on ‘Get Closer (Valerie Dore)’. It has been four years Various Artists’ last studio CD, “Baltimora - Best of Italo Disco Collection” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Since Various Artists last CD (Baltimora - Best of Italo Disco Collection) on Blue Note Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. Smart music for smart people.
Delirio Mind (Scotsh) good vocals. Music of Boys (Sabrina) is gentle, never overbearing. The sound of Don’t Cry Tonight (Savage) is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Baltimora - Best of Italo Disco Collection. Lyrics of Take A Chance (Mr. Flagio) are precise and evocative. Lady Fantasy (Max Him) is excellent song though, very addictive. Chinese Revenge (Koto) on Baltimora - Best of Italo Disco Collection is solid and easy to listen to. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Hey, Hey, Guy (Ken Lazlo) because the melody in the chorus is so good. Pulstar (Hipnosis) great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.U.S.S.R (Eddy Huntington) as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. The sound in Tarzan Boy (Baltimora) is really warm and Various Artists’s signature voice is still very much present.
