Since Tri Yann last CD (Inventaire Vol. 2) on Blue Note Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. There were many famous songs of Tri Yann available. It has been fifteen years Tri Yann’ last studio CD, “Inventaire Vol. 2″ which won Array Emmy� Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Le Renard and Korydwen Et Le Rouge De Kenholl is really good.
This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. No Tri Yann song has come close to capturing my attention as Le Tourdion Des Manants did. Kimiad Eur Paour Kaez Den Oblijet Da Guitad E Vro is a striking and quite long song. An Tourter one of the best in my collection. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Les Cheveaux Du Mene-Bre is the albums biggest surprise. Charming song, great melody. Vocals of Tri Yann in Suite Ecossaise really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Complainte Gallaise is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Some call Quand La Bergere from Inventaire Vol. 2 as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Hanter-Dro Macabre is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Kiss The Children For Me Mary - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Tri Yann is one of artists that allow his songs like Les Echevins De Nantes to stand on their own and be heard. Put Mrs Mac Dermott into car stereo for your highway driving Le Mariage Insolite De Marie La Bretonne is another favourite of mine. The song feels complete. Maluron Lurette is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Opening track Les Filles Des Forges (Pile-Menu) shows the best of Tri Yann. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Johnny Monfarleau “Madame Bolduc” from the beginning to the end.
