Tito Puente was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Tito Puente and Madre Rumba together. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Tito Puente energies, virtually a rebirth. On Madre Rumba album, Tito Puente have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Exciting stuff.
Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Cumbanchera de Bel actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Tito Puente’s face. Overall a nice softer song. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Madre Rumba is Tumba. Poco a Poco is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. In Baho Kende full palet of sound is used by Tito Puente to accentuate the presentation. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Dile Que Por Mi No Tema marked the continuation of Tito Puente in style evolution. Que Voy Hacer is a medium tempo tune. Ritmos Cambian has a fun tempo. Pepe Antonio I just LOVE this mix! Melao de Ca (2:42) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Some call Bemba Colora - Celia Cruz, from Madre Rumba as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Pai y la Mai was the first single release from the album Madre Rumba.
