It’s natural for The Young Gods to take a stab at ‘Outside’ considering her long-professed love for UB40. [1995] Only Heaven [Japan] is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Lead single “Outside” and “Strangel” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. To me The Young Gods is the best band ever.
In Strangel it becomes nowhere more obvious that The Young Gods has yet to define own style. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Speed Of Night. Donnez Les Esprits which is my favorite is a truly The Young Gods sounding song. Blew our minds when we first heard Moon Revolutions. I believe Kissing The Sun is one of the most amazing, heartfelt songs ever written. Some of the arrangements found on [1995] Only Heaven [Japan] are surprisingly edgy. Lointane is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Gardez Les Esprits is worth the money. I loved Child In The Tree the first time I heard it. You can find feelings on this piece of art. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Gasoline Man.
