After debuting at No. 1 last week, The Sugarcubes’s album It’s-it! falls to No. 2 with 205,000, a sales slide of 50%. On It’s-it! album, The Sugarcubes have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. For older fans It’s-it! will put a massive smile accross your face. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Leash Called Love (Tony Humphries Mix) - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. The sound of Blue Eyed Pop (S1000 Mix) is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Motorcrash (Justin Robertson Mix) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Gold (Todd Terry Mix) on It’s-it! is solid and easy to listen to. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Water (Bryan ‘Chuk’ New Mix). It took me a little time but I ended up loving Regina (Sugarcubes Mix). Mama (Mark Saunders Mix) - Okay, I just talked about depth. Listening to Pump (Marius De Vries Mix) you can hear that The Sugarcubes has still amazing chemistry with band members.
