Bun B. Hear has compared writing for The Shamen’s new album to that on ‘Arbor Bona Arbor Mala’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. While no new The Shamen album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Asia. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of The Shamen energies, virtually a rebirth. Another great offering from The Shamen.
02 - Sefirotic Axis gives good insight into the truths. 03 - Entraterrestrial is astounding. Some of the arrangements found on Arbor Bona Arbor Mala are surprisingly edgy. Such hits like 05 - Beneath The Underworld will leave you hooked. 06 - Xochipili’s Return is almost impossible to review. The Shamen breathes new life into the music in 07 - @ Rio Negro. 08 - Above The Otherworld is a good listen every once in a while. 09 - A Moment In Dub is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. 10 - Pizzaro In Paradise sets the tone for the entire album. Overall a nice softer song. It took me a little time but I ended up loving 12 - Anticipation Eschaton. 13 - Out Of The Styx still maintains something of a specific flourish.
