Ivan Grach has compared writing for The Proclaimers’s new album to that on ‘Sunshine on Leith’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. ‘Sunshine on Leith’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Self-described as Folk with lots of words, The Proclaimers comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. If I may, I suggest “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”. That one song is amazing!
Cap in Hand hits the heart. When listening to Then I Met You, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. What sets My Old Friend the Blues apart is The Proclaimers’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Some call Sean from Sunshine on Leith as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. In Come on Nature the music gets its power. I’m on My Way is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. What Do You Do? is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. It’s Saturday Night gives good insight into the truths. Teardrops is a song to enjoy for years to come. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it.
