Since completing 1994’s ‘She Belongs To Everyone But Me’, The Flying Burrito Brothers fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. eleven years ago, The Flying Burrito Brothers briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “She Belongs To Everyone But Me (2)”. Lead single “She Belongs To Everyone But Me” and “She Belongs To Everyone But Me (2)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. IT makes me wanna dance!
She Belongs To Everyone But Me (2) is The Flying Burrito Brothers’s best work in years. Baby How’d We Ever Get This Way is one of the best records ever. Too Much Honkey Tonkin’ is a bit different from The Flying Burrito Brothers stereotypical stuff. Midnight Magic Woman is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. My Abandoned Heart has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. There is excellent mix of music in She’s A Friend Of Mine. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on In Concert is Louisiane. Cheating Kind Of Love - Check out that bassline! That’s When You Know It’s Over (2:27) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! I Swear I Son’t Miss Her Anymore - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. I listened to the opening track She’s A Hell Of A Deal and liked it a lot. Another Shade Of Grey presents the gorgeous mix of instruments on In Concert. When listening to Damned If I’ll Be Lonely Tonight, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Run To The Night is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Put Closer To You into car stereo for your highway driving True Love Never Runs Dry - another great track from the In Concert album. Tell Me It Ain’t So is another strong production from The Flying Burrito Brothers.
