It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of The Charlatans energies, virtually a rebirth. The Charlatans isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. It’s natural for The Charlatans to take a stab at ‘Nine Acre Court’ considering her long-professed love for Gustav Holst. Another great offering from The Charlatans.
Feeling Holy is the first taste of the new album. This is one hell of a track. Crashin’ In is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Bullet Comes actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on The Charlatans’s face. The Charlatans allows each song to breathe and flourish. Just When You’re Thinkin’ Things Over is gorgeous song though, very addictive. I’ve found myself listening to Tell Everyone back to back and back many times. A unique and uplifting song. No Fiction is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: See It Through, which shows, blatantly, how much The Charlatans has evolved as a singer. Thank You the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe.
