Lead single “Viderunt Omnes” and “Jucundare Filla Sion” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of The Benedictine Monks of Santa Domingo de Silos energies, virtually a rebirth. Chant Noel carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Unappreciated gift to Chorus
Jucundare Filla Sion has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. De Ore Leonis make listening to The Benedictine Monks of Santa Domingo de Silos like being in some sort of time warp. Best song on the album, love it. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Zelus Domus Tuae - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. I like the agression and power of Verbum Caro Factum Est. Hodle Christus Natus Est is really a nice song to relax and listen too. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Oul Manducat. Gloria, Laus Et Honor good vocals. Hodle Nobis Caelorum Rex is a striking and quite long song. Hodle Nobis De Caelo is a fine track on any terms. In Principio has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets The Benedictine Monks of Santa Domingo de Silos’s strong vocals come to the fore. Super Flumina Babylonis without a doubt is the standout song of Chant Noel. Ubl Caritas - The Benedictine Monks of Santa Domingo de Silos first major hit. The Benedictine Monks of Santa Domingo de Silos sings Gloria In Excelsis Deo in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Listening to Alleluia, Domine In Virtute Tua you can hear that The Benedictine Monks of Santa Domingo de Silos has still amazing chemistry with band members. Within the first few notes of Respice, Domine it’s perfectly clear that The Benedictine Monks of Santa Domingo de Silos is living this song. The Benedictine Monks of Santa Domingo de Silos breathes new life into the music in Alleluia, Oportebat. Rorate Caell Desuper is simple, dignified and effective, The Benedictine Monks of Santa Domingo de Silos refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Puerl Hebraeorum have really caught my ear and imagination.
