Home Is Where the Van Is is an amazing album, racked with beauty.There were many famous songs of The Battlefield Band available. This album has some very good songs like Major Malley’s March & Reel/Malcolm Currie and Bonny Barbry-O. If I may, I suggest “Major Malley’s March & Reel/Malcolm Currie”. That one song is amazing!
Bonny Barbry-O is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Home Is Where the Van Is. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Up & Waur Them A’, Willie is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Don’t judge Joseph McDonald’s Jig/The Snuff Wife/Thief of Lochaber on the first listening. I now have Cockle Geordie/Miss Graham/Miss Thompson as one of my personal favorites. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Blackhall Rocks is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Lads O’ the Fair is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Home Is Where the Van Is. Still going through Home Is Where the Van Is and coming to appreciate Mary Cassidy more and more with every listen.
