Uptown Avondale is an amazing album, racked with beauty.It’s natural for The Afghan Whigs to take a stab at ‘Band of Gold’ considering her long-professed love for EMF. This disc has all of the essential The Afghan Whigs classics. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Uptown Avondale.
The Afghan Whigs has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Come See About Me - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. As always, The Afghan Whigs’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Rebirth of the Cool - another great track from the Uptown Avondale album.
