Since Tank Girl last CD (Motion Picture Soundtrack) on SixSteps records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Tank Girl energies, virtually a rebirth. Tank Girl was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Tank Girl and Motion Picture Soundtrack together. I wish that “Motion Picture Soundtrack” album was instrumental.
Tank Girl rocks harder than ever with Bjork - Army of Me. Once you hear Devo - Girl U Want, you will listen to it over and over. The Magnificent Bastards - Moc had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Album opener L7 - Shove is a bright, upbeat ditty. Hole - Drown Soda is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Still going through Motion Picture Soundtrack and coming to appreciate Bush - Bomb more and more with every listen. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Joan Jett and Paul Westerberg - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. I think Belly - Thief is the best song Tank Girl has ever done. Vercua Salt - Aurora - This one is lively and fun. Tank Girl sings his heart out in Ice-T - Big Gun.
