There is so much to love about T-Bone Walker, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Lead single “Alimony Blues” and “Baby Broke My Heart (78 rpm version)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by T-Bone Walker. Great Blues right here!
Album opener Baby Broke My Heart (78 rpm version) is a bright, upbeat ditty. I find myself hearing bits of Cold, Cold Feeling here and there throughout my waking hours. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Evil Hearted Woman (alt. take). Get These Blues Off Me is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Glamour Girl - To me, this is the best song on the The Complete Imperial Recordings, 1950-1954. I Get So Weary on The Complete Imperial Recordings, 1950-1954 is solid and easy to listen to. Nice and different song. I Walked Away sets the tone for the entire album. I’m About To Lose My Mind is amazing song though, very addictive. Life Is Too Short is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. News For My Baby is a song to enjoy for years to come. T-Bone Walker sings his heart out in No Reason. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Street Walking Woman is my favorite song on The Complete Imperial Recordings, 1950-1954. Strollin’ With Bone is one of my favorite songs by T-Bone Walker. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. One listen to the sheer beauty of Through With Women was all I needed. Don’t judge Too Lazy (alt. take) on the first listening. Travelin’ Blues - another great track from the The Complete Imperial Recordings, 1950-1954 album. Welcome Blues (Say Pretty Baby) one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. You Don’t Love Me is probably one of T-Bone Walker’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Strong, powerful vocals of T-Bone Walker in You Don’t Understand are very impressive. You Just Wanted To Use Me is a medium tempo tune.
