Sweet was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Sweet and Hit Singles A&B Sides CD1 together. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Sweet energies, virtually a rebirth. For older fans Hit Singles A&B Sides CD1 will put a massive smile accross your face. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Sweet ever.
In You’re Not Wrong For Loving Me full palet of sound is used by Sweet to accentuate the presentation. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. The song Done Me Wrong All Right ending is my favorite… so catchy! The opening track Alexander Graham Bell is very much like you would expect from other albums. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Spotlight. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Music in Jeanie is exquisite as in all tracks of Hit Singles A&B Sides CD1. Little Willy - Sweet first major hit. Hit Singles A&B Sides CD1 couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Man From Mecca. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Sweet. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Block Buster - Okay, I just talked about depth. I can’t stop humming along Need A Lot Of Lovin’. Hell Raiser - To me, this is the best song on the Hit Singles A&B Sides CD1. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Own Up, Take a Look At Yours.. make listening to Sweet like being in some sort of time warp.
