There is no doubt that Swans has talent. Swans was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Swans and The Great Anihilator together. After seeing In, I had to have a good Swans cd. This is my first Swans Album and i must say i am blown away.
The sound in I Am The Sun is really warm and Swans’s signature voice is still very much present. She Lives! is probably the highlight of the album. Celebrity Lifestyle is a very catchy tune. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Blood Promise - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Mind-Body-Light-Sound is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. My Buried Child is the gorgeous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Warm is astounding. Alcohol The Seed has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Swans’s strong vocals come to the fore. Put Killing For Company into car stereo for your highway driving Mother’s Milk - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Swans has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Telepathy - Check out that bassline! The song feels complete. Swans must have run out of lyrics on the next track Out.
