Self-described as Rock: Progressive with lots of words, Steve Vai comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Steve Vai was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Steve Vai and Passion and Warfare together. There is so much to love about Steve Vai, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Smart music for smart people.
It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. The Animal - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Answers one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. In The Riddle Steve Vai is at his best. Balerina 12:24 is a striking and quite long song. Only one song from Passion and Warfare named For The Love Of God really got me. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. I Would Love To is astounding song though, very addictive. Blue Powder is astounding. Greasy Kid’s Stuff is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Alien Water Kiss is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Best song on the album, love it.
