This album has some very good songs like Overdrive and Matrix (Part One). On Matrix album, Steve Hillman have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Steve Hillman’s new album to that on ‘Matrix’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. I wish that “Matrix” album was instrumental.
Matrix (Part One) is a song to enjoy for years to come. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Ascendant - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Sphinx Dancer - another great track from the Matrix album. Such hits like Into Space will leave you hooked. Taken To The Limit is astounding and different song. Sequent Seven one of the best in my collection. In Matrix (Part Two) you won’t find any flashy solos. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Matrix. In Tritone full palet of sound is used by Steve Hillman to accentuate the presentation.
