After debuting at No. 1 last week, Steve Earle’s album The Essential Steve Earle falls to No. 2 with 329,000, a sales slide of 95%. It’s natural for Steve Earle to take a stab at ‘Guitar Town’ considering her long-professed love for Army of Lovers. This is the first studio album from Steve Earle since bad diagnosis in 1993. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like The Essential Steve Earle.
Hillbilly Highway is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Steve Earle ever produced. The Devil’s Right Hand - I just love it. Goodbye’s All We Got Left To Say is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on The Essential Steve Earle is Six Days On The Road. Someday is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Steve Earle is hitting on all cylinders in Good Ol’ Boy (Gettin’ Tough). This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. I find myself hearing bits of The Rain Came Down here and there throughout my waking hours. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on The Essential Steve Earle. This is probably my favorite song on the album. The Week Of Living Dangerously - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Continental Trailways Blues is a fine track on any terms.
