After seeing Passenger 57 Main Title, I had to have a good Stanley Clarke cd. Lead single “Passenger 57 Main Title” and “Lisa” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is the first studio album from Stanley Clarke since bad diagnosis in 1995. This album is a scorcher!
It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Justice’s Groove is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Nice and different song. Theme From Boyz N The Hood is gorgeous song though, very addictive. I now have Grandpa’s Theme as one of my personal favorites. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in At the Movies. The Learning Curve - This one is lively and fun. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Capital/Naty’s Theme is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Stanley Clarke must have run out of lyrics on the next track Meeting. Deja’s Theme is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Black On Black Crime had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Max’s Theme is a astounding sing-along.
