On the Norway charts, superstar Stan Getz and Dizzy Gillespie’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Stan Getz and Dizzy Gillespie had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. On Verve Jazz Masters 25 album, Stan Getz and Dizzy Gillespie have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Such great and happy songs.
Blew our minds when we first heard Dark Eyes. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Stan Getz and Dizzy Gillespie. It’s The Talk Of The Town (6:51) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. The Mooche is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. The Way You Look Tonight is a bit of a show-tune.
