Self-described as Ethnic with lots of words, Sri Chinmoy comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. 107 Blue Heart-Boats carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Sri Chinmoy has. This album is a scorcher!
Flute is one of the best records ever. Sri Chinmoy sings his heart out in Esraj. Once you hear Wind Jamm’r, you will listen to it over and over. Cow Bells is one of the coolest songs Sri Chinmoy has ever recorded. In Paraguayan Harp the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Music and lyrics of Bamboo Recorder creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Sansa to me is the best you can get from Sri Chinmoy. Double Sansa had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Steel Drum - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Recorder is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Hammer Dulcimer - Okay, I just talked about depth. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Chant can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Sri Chinmoy is all about. Small Psaltery is probably one of Sri Chinmoy’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Capped-Reed Flute rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Voice and instruments in Cornemuse complement each other. Bass Pedals is one of these floating songs. Chinese Gong is simple, dignified and effective, Sri Chinmoy refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Percussion Keyboard is the exquisite blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Modern Dilruba is another strong production from Sri Chinmoy. Straight Flute gives good insight into the truths. Floating Pentatonic Chimes is a marvelous, simple song by Sri Chinmoy at the top of his game. Nice and different song. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Harmonica is my favorite song on 107 Blue Heart-Boats. You have to get essence of the Bouzouki’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. New Zealand Double Flute is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Tubular Bells is the song that really did it for me. Shakauhachi Keyboards - A strong beat. Madal Drum is one of the more up-tempo songs on 107 Blue Heart-Boats. Harmonium is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Sri Chinmoy is hitting on all cylinders in Grand Piano.
