Since completing 1993’s ‘Contact’, SPK fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. After debuting at No. 1 last week, SPK’s album Auto Da Fe falls to No. 2 with 996,000, a sales slide of 54%. It’s natural for SPK to take a stab at ‘Contact’ considering her long-professed love for Babylon Zoo. This is my first SPK Album and i must say i am blown away.
Germanik is a perfect sing-along. SPK rocks harder than ever with Mekano. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Slogun is gorgeous song though, very addictive. Metal Field is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Walking On Dead Steps - another great track from the Auto Da Fe album. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of SPK. Another Dark Age is a song to enjoy for years to come. Twilight Of The Idols one is one of the better boring ones. Culturecide is really the reason why I recommend buying Auto Da Fe.
