IF YOU LIKE ALL Soundtrack - Various Artists’S SONG GO FOR IT! There is so much to love about Soundtrack - Various Artists, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This album has some very good songs like Cuban Pete (C&C Pop Radio Edit) (Jim Carrey) and Who’s that Man (Xscape). One of Soundtrack - Various Artists’s best albums yet.
In Who’s that Man (Xscape) you won’t find any flashy solos. This Business of Love (Domino) is so unique, as each one of the songs is. I like the idea behind Bounce Around (Tony Toni Tone). What sets (I could only) Whisper Your Name (Harry Connick Jr) apart is Soundtrack - Various Artists’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. You Would Be My Baby (Vanessa Williams) as a highlight of The Mask: Chuck Russel Songs Score, CD1 contains a ton of exquisite melodies. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Hi De Ho (K7). Let the Good Times Roll (Fishbone) is beautiful, yet underrated track. Straight Up (The Brian Setzer Orchestra) motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. The first time I listened to Hey Pachuco (Royal Crown Revue) I was struck by its astounding sound. Gee Baby, Ain’t I Good to You (Susan Boyd) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. As always, Soundtrack - Various Artists’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again.
