John Digester has compared writing for Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee’s new album to that on ‘Hometown Blues’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Now signed to Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee’s Virgin Records, the title track from second album “Hometown Blues” leads Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee’s back-to-school campaign. Self-described as Blues with lots of words, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Man Ain’t Nothin’ But A Fool - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Charming song, great melody. Meet You In The Morning is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. This track is a great song that still never gets old. I was truly moved when I heard Feel So Good. Forgive Me is the albums biggest surprise. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Simple and heartfelt closing track Crying The Blues closes Hometown Blues on a high note. Key To The Highway one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Easy Me Worried Mind is worth the money. I’ve found myself listening to Bulldog Blues back to back and back many times. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Put Going Down Slow into car stereo for your highway driving Bad Blood I just LOVE this mix! This song stands out greatly from the others. Dissatisfied Woman - A classic Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee track. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive.
