It has been three years Sonic Youth’ last studio CD, “Made In USA” which won Array Academy Awards� and was nominated for album of the year. Self-described as Soundtrack with lots of words, Sonic Youth comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Since completing 1995’s ‘Mackin’ For Doober’, Sonic Youth fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Smart music for smart people.
Full Chrome Logic is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. It’s such an underrated song. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Moustache Riders marked the continuation of Sonic Youth in style evolution. Still going through Made In USA and coming to appreciate Tuck N Dar more and more with every listen. Moon In The Bathroom is so unique, as each one of the songs is. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Lincoln’s Gout is pretty funky and mellow. Coughing Up Tweed is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Made In USA have ended. As always, Sonic Youth’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Sonic Youth. I love the melodic melody of Pocketful Of Sen-Sen and to this day it makes me feel good. Smoke Blisters 1 & 2 one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. The Velvet Plug is probably one of Sonic Youth’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Sonic Youth rocks harder than ever with Giggles. I’ve found myself listening to Tulip Fire 2 back to back and back many times. The Dynamics Of Bulbing has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Sonic Youth’s strong vocals come to the fore. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. O.J.’s Glove Or What? is nothing but pure genius. Webb Of Mud 1, 2 & 3 is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. This song stands out greatly from the others.
