It’s natural for Sonic Youth to take a stab at ‘Shoot’ considering her long-professed love for East 17. This disc has all of the essential Sonic Youth classics. There is so much to love about Sonic Youth, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Such great and happy songs.
100% is one of my favorite songs by Sonic Youth. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Swimsuit Issue is a fine track on any terms. I find myself hearing bits of Genetic here and there throughout my waking hours. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Sugar Kane. Theresa’s Sound-World is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. The opening track Youth Against Fascism is very much like you would expect from other albums. Although Sister is very melodic it is far from sad. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. JC is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Nic Fit is probably one of Sonic Youth’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to.
