On Black Europe album, Sol Invictus have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Since completing 1994’s ‘Angel Fall’, Sol Invictus fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been eight years Sol Invictus’ last studio CD, “Black Europe” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
Fields is one of my favorite songs by Sol Invictus. English Murder one is one of the better boring ones. First time I heard Lex Talionis was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.I can’t stop humming along In A Silent Place. Gold Is King - a classic song. Lonely Crawls The Night is perfect. Blood Of Summer is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Nice and different song. Music and lyrics of World Turn Green creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Opening track Like A Sword shows the best of Sol Invictus. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Sawney Bean. Black Europe couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Somewhere In Europe. I hope to keep hearing Sol Invictus works for a long time to come. The Killing Tide - I just love it. I now have The Death Of The West as one of my personal favorites. Against The Modern World - Check out that bassline!
