Ivan Grach has compared writing for Sly and the Family Stone’s new album to that on ‘Life’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since Sly and the Family Stone last CD (Life) on Columbia Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Sly and the Family Stone on ‘Dynamite!’. Sly and the Family Stone is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Best song on the album, love it. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Fun - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Sly and the Family Stone. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Harmony is absolutely incredible. Life very upbeat. Love City is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Sly and the Family Stone offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. M’Lady presents the perfect mix of instruments on Life. No Sly and the Family Stone song has come close to capturing my attention as Jane Is A Groupee did. Only One Way Out Of This Mess is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart.
