‘Tweez’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Tweez isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Slint on ‘Ron’. Smart music for smart people.
When I listen to Nan Ding in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Carol because the melody in the chorus is so good. Kent - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Charlotte has a fun tempo. Slint sings Darlene in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. This track is clearly meant to showcase Slint’s vocal abilities.
