I am not a real Rock: Punk-Rock music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Ask Cafe’ really is amazing. This album has some very good songs like No Idea and Homeland. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of SkaFace on ‘No Idea’. This is what good Rock: Punk-Rock should be.
In Homeland full palet of sound is used by SkaFace to accentuate the presentation. The opening track This Bottle is very much like you would expect from other albums. Twisted Planet (3:05) - awsome. The Barrier actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on SkaFace’s face. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is I Saw You. SkaFace must have run out of lyrics on the next track No Man’s Land. Lyrics of Creeping Bile are precise and evocative. Maire O’Connor gives taste of what makes SkaFace special as a musician. Grace has a fun tempo. Bed Of Nails is perfect and different song. SkaFace sings Somebody Wants You in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. No SkaFace song has come close to capturing my attention as Ta i Bfad o Tu did. Skarred by Ska is a amazing sing-along. Skaface gets you up and jumping.
