Selena had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. After seeing La Tracalera, I had to have a good Selena cd. Self-described as Blues with lots of words, Selena comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Mis Mejores Canciones: 17 Super Exitos is not something you should pass up.
Estoy Contigo is a strong cut, one of many. Sukiyaki is perfect. I was truly moved when I heard Tu Eres. La Carcacha actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Selena’s face. Yo Me Voy is one of these floating songs. Baila Esta Cumbia is one of the best records ever. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Costumbres is the albums biggest surprise. No Quiero Saber is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. First time I heard Vuelve A Mi was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.In Despues De Enero the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Yo Fui Aquella is a medium tempo tune. As always, Selena’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. I loved Que Creias the first time I heard it. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Mis Mejores Canciones: 17 Super Exitos. I like the agression and power of Como La Flor.
