Since Sebadoh last CD (Smash Your Head on the Punk Rock) on Virgin Records back in 1992, I have felt a massive void in my life. While no new Sebadoh album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1992 tour in South America. This is the first studio album from Sebadoh since bad diagnosis in 1992. This album is awesome.
Brand New Love is one of the best records ever. Notsur Dnuora Selcric is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Don’t judge Vampire on the first listening. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Voice and instruments in Cecilia Chime in Melee complement each other. In Everybody’s Been Burned Sebadoh is at his best. Junk Bonds one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: New Worship, which shows, blatantly, how much Sebadoh has evolved as a singer. Mean Distance is a fine track on any terms. Pink Moon is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Mind Meld sets the tone for the entire album.
