Since completing 1995’s ‘Silver Rain Fell (Meat Beat Manifesto mix)’, Scorn fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. John Digester has compared writing for Scorn’s new album to that on ‘Ellipsis’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Scorn had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album is a scorcher!
Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Exodus [Scorn mix] is my favorite song on Ellipsis. I’ve found myself listening to Dreamspace back to back and back many times. From the moment you listen to Night Ash Black you’re hooked. Listening to Night Tide you can hear that Scorn has still amazing chemistry with band members. The song feels complete. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Automata [Germ mix] is astounding song though, very addictive. Musically Light Trap [Scorn mix] is superior to other tracks in Ellipsis.
