Since completing 1995’s ‘Sonata in D major, K 443′, Scarlatti, Domenico fulfilled their contract with Columbia Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This disc has all of the essential Scarlatti, Domenico classics. It has been fourteen years Scarlatti, Domenico’ last studio CD, “Keyboard Sonatas - Pletnev” which won Array Academy Awards� and was nominated for album of the year. Sonata in D minor, K 1 is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Some of the arrangements found on Keyboard Sonatas - Pletnev are surprisingly edgy. First time I heard Sonata in G major, K 284 was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Sonata in B minor, K 27 is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Sonata in E major, K 380 is a good listen every once in a while. I’ve found myself listening to Sonata in A major, K 24 back to back and back many times. Sonata in C sharp minor, K 247 is probably one of Scarlatti, Domenico’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Music and lyrics of Sonata in F minor, K 519 creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Nice and different song. Sonata in D minor, K 9 is a striking and quite long song. Excellent vocals and musical performances. If you are a Scarlatti, Domenico fan, you will love Sonata in A major, K 404. In Sonata in D minor, K 213 you won’t find any flashy solos. I hope to keep hearing Scarlatti, Domenico works for a long time to come. Sonata in D major, K 96 - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Scarlatti, Domenico. Get Keyboard Sonatas - Pletnev and turn on Sonata in G major, K 146 if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Sonata in B minor, K 87 is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Scarlatti, Domenico offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Sonata in C minor, K 11 - This is a very lively song. This song may be the most meaningful. Although Sonata in F minor, K 387 is very melodic it is far from sad. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Album opener Sonata in D minor, K 141 is a bright, upbeat ditty. When I listen to Sonata in A major, K 113 in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Sonata in F sharp minor, K 25 is my favorite song on Keyboard Sonatas - Pletnev. Sonata in B minor, K 173 one of the best in my collection. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Sonata in G minor, K 8 is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. The song feels complete. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely.
