When you buy a Savatage album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Now signed to Savatage’s Virgin Records, the title track from second album “Ghost In The Ruins: A Tribute To Criss Oliva” leads Savatage’s back-to-school campaign. Self-described as Metal: Heavy with lots of words, Savatage comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
24 Hours Ago sets the tone for the entire album. The opening track Legions is very much like you would expect from other albums. Strange Wings is a great opener for Ghost In The Ruins: A Tribute To Criss Oliva. Gutter Ballet great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Of Rage and War is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. The Dungeons Are Calling is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Sirens - I just love it. Best song on the album, love it. Criss Intro is one of the coolest songs Savatage has ever recorded. Hall Of The Mountain King the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Post Script - arguably the best track on Ghost In The Ruins: A Tribute To Criss Oliva album.
