This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Savage. Lead single “Don’t Cry Tonight ‘94 (remix…)” and “Only You ‘94 (remix by lee mar…)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Savage was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Savage and Strangelove together. This is my first Savage Album and i must say i am blown away.
In Only You ‘94 (remix by lee mar…) you won’t find any flashy solos. Only one song from Strangelove named Strangelove (radio mix) really got me. Celebrate ‘94 as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Something More Than This is nothing but pure genius. All of songs on Strangelove and have something to say letting alone Eyes of the Moon. And You Are is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Charming song, great melody. Something (radio mix) is a bit different from Savage stereotypical stuff. The sound of Ten Years Ago is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Don’t Cry Tonight (remix by…) is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Strangelove. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. After about the third Strangelove (faxx mix) listen through, I began to believe this song is Savage’s essence. Something (progrexo mix) is cool and different song. Song Something (loop 2 dub mix) is actually a funny song.
