When you buy a Saint Etienne album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Since completing 1995’s ‘A Christmas Gift To You’, Saint Etienne fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Saint Etienne was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Saint Etienne and Xmas ‘95 together. Overall, I would highly recommend Xmas ‘95 CD.
Although Driving Home For Christmas is very melodic it is far from sad. I listened to the opening track Message In A Bottle and liked it a lot.
