It’s natural for Saint Etienne to take a stab at ‘Flight To Tashkent’ considering her long-professed love for East 17. Saint Etienne had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. There were many famous songs of Saint Etienne available. This album is in perfect progression from Saint Etienne!
From the moment you listen to Sushi Rider you’re hooked. Deutscher Kendals pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Lyrics of Think Twice are precise and evocative. Studio Kinda Filthy is probably one of Saint Etienne’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. We’re Coming In Loaded as a highlight of I Love To Paint contains a ton of exquisite melodies. Music and lyrics of Fife Coast creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. I like the idea behind Fake 88. After about the third Parliament Hill listen through, I began to believe this song is Saint Etienne’s essence. Everything I Touch Turns To Gold is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. I came to like Schroeder. Stranger In Paradise has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album.
