Wild Palms is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Jim Jones has compared writing for Ryuichi Sakamoto’s new album to that on ‘Wild Palms’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. It’s natural for Ryuichi Sakamoto to take a stab at ‘Wild Palms Theme’ considering her long-professed love for Gustav Holst. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
The Beach is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Ryuichi Sakamoto released so far. Harry To Hospital is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Chase Tommy is one of these floating songs. Mimezine is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Grace In Hospital has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Beasty Eats Terra good vocals. Go Chip Tommy - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Classical Cyberspace is perfect. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Senator’s Farewell is astounding and different song. Opening track Finale shows the best of Ryuichi Sakamoto. I like the idea behind She’s Not There The Zombies. I like I Need Your Lovin’ Don Gardner and Dee Dee Ford because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Only one song from Wild Palms named Can’t Take My Eyes Off You Frankie Valfi really got me. Ryuichi Sakamoto must have run out of lyrics on the next track Lightnin’ Strikes Lou Christie. Classical Gas Mason Williams is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about.
