There is no doubt that Roy Buchanan has talent. Now signed to Roy Buchanan’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “Guitar On Fire: The Atlantic Sessions” leads Roy Buchanan’s back-to-school campaign. Guitar On Fire: The Atlantic Sessions isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Guitar On Fire: The Atlantic Sessions is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Album opener The Heat Of The Battle is a bright, upbeat ditty. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Roy Buchanan. Green Onions - another great track from the Guitar On Fire: The Atlantic Sessions album. Judy has a fun tempo. After you’ve listened to Adventures Of Brer Rabbit and Tar Baby, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Turn To Stone - A classic Roy Buchanan track. Fly… Night Bird is one of the best records ever. Supernova is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Running Out - Roy Buchanan first major hit. Man On The Floor - a classic song. Okay is Roy Buchanan’s best work in years. My Friend Jeff is the albums biggest surprise. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with If Six Was Nine. I believe The Messiah Will Come Again is one of the most exquisite, heartfelt songs ever written.
