Since Root last CD (The Temple In The Underworld) on Mute Records back in 1992, I have felt a massive void in my life. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Root on ‘Intro’. While no new Root album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1992 tour in South America. The Temple In The Underworld is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Casilda’s Song has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Aposiopesis without a doubt is the standout song of The Temple In The Underworld. The Solitude is a cool sing-along. After you’ve listened to Voices From, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Root must have run out of lyrics on the next track The Wall. Such hits like The Old Ones will leave you hooked. All of songs on The Temple In The Underworld and have something to say letting alone Message. My Name is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. My Deep Mystery has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Freebee because the melody in the chorus is so good. Dogrova Rise is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Poselstvo Temnot is a very catchy tune.
