On the Lithuania charts, superstar Rondo Veneziano’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Rondo Veneziano’s album Il Mago di Venezia falls to No. 2 with 604,000, a sales slide of 84%. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Rondo Veneziano on ‘Buon Natale, Mondo’. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Nettuno is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Il Mago di Venezia have ended. Listening to Canaletto you can hear that Rondo Veneziano has still amazing chemistry with band members. Alchimie Sonore gives taste of what makes Rondo Veneziano special as a musician. Filigrana is astounding. Litorali is a medium tempo tune. Iridescenze is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Deserti Lontani rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Itinerari Veneti - My least favorite song on this album. Tiepolo - This is a very lively song. Blu Oltremare is the funkiest number on the album. I hope to keep hearing Rondo Veneziano works for a long time to come.
